Rep. Raskin Hosts Virtual Event to Celebrate MD08 Art Competition Participants

On May 15, Congressman Jamie Raskin (MD-08), hosted a virtual event to honor all the high school participants and announce the winner of the 2022 Congressional Art Competition for Maryland’s Eighth District.

Rep. Raskin shared words of encouragement and praise with each of the gathered students who submitted a piece to the competition. This year’s winner is Isabel Acuna Marin from Albert Einstein High School for her piece “Tia Mona.” This year the competition saw 133 submissions from 29 high schools across Montgomery, Frederick and Carroll Counties. Rep. Raskin highlighted the work of 25 runner up submissions.

Below is a full recording of the virtual celebration and a slide show of each submission to the contest. You may also view the submissions at Rep. Raskin’s Virtual Art Gallery, available here. The virtual gallery and video recording were created by Rep. Raskin and his staff to highlight the achievements of the high school students who participated in the Congressional Art Competition.
