Students from the Parkland, Florida, high school where 17 people were killed in a Feb. 14 mass shooting told a gathering of Montgomery County students Monday night that the time for stricter gun control laws is now and they are the generation to push lawmakers to act.

About 650 county high school students filled the Blair auditorium to hear the Stoneman Douglas students speak. Rep. Jamie Raskin of Takoma Park and Rep. Ted Deutch of Florida arranged the visit by the group of eight students from the school, as well as two alumni and a parent.
