(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Congressman Jamie Raskin (MD-08) today joined Rep. Harley (CA-48) and 61 bipartisan Members of Congress in sending a letter to the Departments of Homeland Security (DHS) and Health and Human Services (HHS) requesting personal protective equipment (PPE) for childcare providers caring for the children of first responders, health care workers, and other essential workers.

The Members wrote: "At a time when our communities are coming together to respond to these unprecedented challenges, it is vital we make the necessary resources available to protect frontline workers and prevent the spread of COVID-19. While we continue to hear about the urgent requests for supplies in our health care system, we also have heard from our constituents about the dire shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) for our essential workforce, including those assisting with critical childcare services. These organizations have had to establish emergency protocols and procedures to keep their employees and volunteers as well as the children and families they serve safe and healthy."

A copy of the letter is available here.
