ROCKVILLE, M.D. – As National Book Month concludes, Congressman Jamie Raskin (MD-08) today announced the launch of his first annual Raskin’s Readers program to encourage elementary school students (K-5) and their families to continue their reading journeys.

From October 31, 2020 and January 31, 2021, Congressman Raskin invites students to read 10 books with help from their parents, grandparents, guardians, or other family members. Students who meet this goal will be invited to join Rep. Raskin at a virtual recognition ceremony in early 2021 to recognize their hard work and wonderful achievements.

To register for the Raskin’s Readers program, please sign up here. During the program, students can use this Book Log to track their reading progress at home. To complete the program, please submit a completed reading list here.

In addition to the Raskin’s Readers program, students are invited to participate in a Bookmark Design Contest through January 31, 2021. Rep. Raskin will announce the winner of the bookmark contest at the virtual recognition ceremony in early 2021.

Those with questions about participating are encouraged to call Rep. Raskin’s Rockville District Office at 301-354-1000 or email Nina.Weisbroth@mail.house.gov.

All materials for the Raskin’s Readers program and Bookmark Contest are available on Congressman Raskin’s website.
