(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Congressman Jamie Raskin (MD-08) released the following statement after dozens were killed and hundreds wounded in an apparent chemical weapons attack in Syria:
“The use of chemical weapons against innocent civilians is a war crime and an atrocity that the whole world regards with horror. It is an unspeakable indecency that we learn last week that President Trump has changed American policy to comfort Putin's friend Assad and this week that women, children and men are being gassed in Syria. Who is responsible for this barbarity in 2017? Congress needs a comprehensive intelligence briefing on this nightmare so we can decide how to respond with the civilized nations of the world.”
