Mike Levin (D-CA) and 137 House Members from both parties in sending a letter to Senate leadership urging them to pass legislation providing $25 billion in emergency grants to the United States Postal Service (USPS). The funding is desperately needed to offset USPS revenue losses as a result of COVID-19, which are now expected to total $22 billion over the next 18 months and could force the agency to close. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) joined Rep. Levin in leading the letter.

The letter, sent to Office of Management and Budget Acting Director Russell T. Vought, follows last month’s Executive Order citing the COVID-19 pandemic as justification for agencies to rescind, modify, or decrease enforcement of federal regulations.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.)- Today, Congressmen Andy Levin (MI-09), Jamie Raskin (MD-08), and Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (MN-05) sent a letter to Attorney General William Barr to express grave concern over reports that the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has been granted authority to conduct warrantless surveillance of Americans protesting in support of racial justice and an end to police brutality. The letter asks that the Department of Justice immediately rescind this authority and ensure that DEA activities do not exceed the scope of authority granted to the agency by Congress.
