In new letters to USPS district leaders responsible for Maryland operations, lawmakers cite aggravating mail delays, worsening problems with parcels and plummeting public trust
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The full Maryland congressional delegation, including U.S. Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen and Congressmen Steny Hoyer, Dutch Ruppersberger, John Sarbanes, Kweisi Mfume, Andy Harris, M.D., Anthony Brown, Jamie Raskin and David Trone, today continued to urge U.S. Postal Service leadership at all levels to resolve persistent and widespread delivery delays. In new correspondence to the district managers of the Capital and Baltimore districts, the federal delegation cites numerous reports from constituents of “serious, persistent mail delivery delays” involving both letters and parcels.

25+ elementary students across the 8th District completed the inaugural “Raskin’s Readers” program
ROCKVILLE, M.D. – Congressman Jamie Raskin (MD-08) today recognized 28 elementary school Student Reading Champions who completed the inaugural “Raskin’s Readers” program. Rep. Raskin launched the program in October, National Book Month, to encourage K-5 students to read at least 10 books with help from their parents, grandparents, guardians, or other family members.

Washington, D.C. – Today, Lead Impeachment Manager Jamie Raskin sent a letter to former President Trump requesting that he provide testimony under oath, either before or during the Senate impeachment trial, about his conduct on January 6. The letter comes after former President Trump’s legal team filed an answer brief to the Article of Impeachment, denying incontrovertible facts about the President’s conduct on and leading up to January 6 and asserting that “[…] the 45th President of the United States performed admirably in his role as president, at all times doing what he thought was in the best interests of the American people.”
